Our Journey

Mission statement

A major role of Primary Care Trusts is to commission services to meet the health needs of local people. Oldham Primary Care Trust has always been both a commissioner and a provider of local community services. It is now separating these two parts of the trust, in line with the national request of the Department of Health.

At Oldham Community Health Services our journey is to take this opportunity to improve our services further. We aim to provide world class community health services. We want these to be the first choice for the people of Oldham, and nearby areas. We also want our organisation to be the first choice for staff who want to contribute to the delivery of excellent and innovative community health care.

OCHS has over 1200 ‘Friends’, which includes Quality and Customer Care Champions. Well represented at the recent Annual Review, they are engaged in Quality Learning Reviews and helped inform the Standards for Better Health mid-year declaration - ensuring OCHS governance processes have an underpinning patient focus and validity

We hope that you will join us on what we believe is an exciting journey for Oldham, for our patients and families, and our staff.
