Welcome to NHS Oldham’s HealthSpace information pages. In this section of the website you’ll find all the information you need to know about HealthSpace and the benefits it brings to you as a patient.
HealthSpace is a secure NHS website that can help you to manage your health, store important health information securely, or help you find out about NHS services near you. HealthSpace is a free service that’s available to anyone aged 16 and over, who is registered with a GP practice in England, and has an email address.
There are two types of HealthSpace account available:
By registering for a basic HealthSpace account you can record and keep track of your health information. For example, patients have said they find it very useful for keeping tabs on their asthma peak-flow readings, diabetic blood sugar levels, and weight and blood pressure readings and that it’s a handy place to store all this information together. Another useful feature of the account is the appointments calendar. You can add in any medical appointments, set a reminder and an email alert will be sent to you. It’s really simple to register for a basic account - just visit the HealthSpace website and click ‘register’.
We are working with some GP practices in Oldham to create a Summary Care Record for patients who want one. You can find out more about this, including which practices are involved and what stage they are up to, here.
If you sign up for an advanced account, in addition to all the features available on the basic account, you will also be able to view your Summary Care Record.
Because this account gives you access to some of your key medical information, the registration process for this account is more detailed as your identity will need to be confirmed before you can be given access.
To register for an advanced account you will first need to complete a series of steps.
Then you will need to make an appointment, between 9.30am and 4pm, at Oldham’s HealthSpace Registration Office, which is based at Oldham’s Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at the Oldham Integrated Care Centre, next to the main bus station in the town centre. the full address and details of how to contact PALS are available via the link above.
